The Geran-5 is approximately 6 meters long, with a wingspan of up to 5.5 meters and an estimated warhead of around 90 kg.
Its reported cruising speed ranges from 450 to 600 km/h, making it significantly faster than conventional propeller-driven Geran drones.
The system is estimated to have a range of about 1,000 km and uses a Chinese TELEFLY TF-TJ2000A jet engine producing roughly 200 kgf of thrust.
Navigation reportedly includes a 12-channel Kometa antenna, a Raspberry-based tracking system and 3G/4G communication modems designed to improve operation under electronic interference.
The combination of higher speed, long range and a heavier payload makes the Geran-5 a new challenge for short-range air-defense systems and increases demand for faster interception technologies.
